LESDEN
YWAM URBAN KEY LONDON

project
coffee
shop
We have been a part of the Harlesden community for over 10 years. We have seen the changing face of Harlesden and been a part of so many amazing testimonies and activities, but after the impact that we and many others have faced due to the global pandemic, we think now is the time to go for more!
This project of opening a coffee shop and restaurant is an open door for us to continue to run some of the activities that we already do, as well as develop so many new ones. And our goal is to be able to do this in a place that we can call our own. We want to host people, invite them in, bless them and serve them, and sometimes the starting point for this is a nice cup of tea or coffee!
We have given out countless cups of coffee and tea over the years, and we have seen how it is a tool to interact with people, to start conversations that turn into relationships where we get to see God's blessing and healing over individuals- so our heart is to continue to do this and more, and the next step, the biggest step, is to finally have a place of our own. Join us in this dream!

goal: £30,000
The number shown above is an overall sum from different offerings collected, between GoFundMe and other methods.

kitchen & food
-
Pastries, cakes, cookies, and more! We'd like to provide both sweet and savory snacks that can be for takeaway or eating in.
-
We're hoping to have licenses to be able to run a full kitchen, which would enable us to also provide full meals for our customers including serving all day breakfast, sandwiches and other meal options. We want to experiment with different world foods, changing the menu to experiment every 3 months.
-
As a coffee shop we would provide basic drinks like tea and coffee, but we also want to be able provide other options like milkshakes and smoothies.
02
Activities
-
In the past, we have run open mic nights and game nights in the base for some people from our neighbourhood to join. This is something that we would like to run in the shop on a monthly basis to bring the community together.
-
There are lots of mums around the area, so we would like to host a mums and toddlers group/session.
-
Senior afternoons that will range with fun activities, pampering sessions, and small groups
-
Youth workshops. We have people on our staff who are photographers, painters, craftsmen, so our aim is to run youth workshops, and give them a chance to exhibit their work by running exhibitions at the cafe.
03
expanding
-
We want to be able to connect with other organisations and services, to partner up and become food providers, or hosts for different events, and through this to influence people in different spheres and areas of society.
-
part of our staff have developed a joint business called Attic & Ivy, where they do various things like event organising and decorating, flower arrangements, photography and filmography, and handmade jewellery. Our hope for the future is to be able to collaborate together, to allow the possibility for gifting and talents within our staff to be used to create things and be able sell and bless people with.
